Raid fat loss in one of the hottest topics in the ever growing international fitness industry!
How to achieve it is the million dollar question!
Rapid fat loss is not something that we usually recommend or endorse however there are ways that we can speed the process up without detrimental health effects. We can also speed up the process while maintaining a level or adherence which will allow for better maintenance once the fat loss period has ended.
Although the infomercials sell the so called ‘silver bullet’, the promise to effect massive change in just ‘3min a day’ etc we won’t make such bold claims. The truth is rapid fat loss will take work and it will take consistency.
If your goal really is to achieve rapid fat loss then you need to be prepared to eat well and exercise in a way that supports this objective.
You WILL NOT get a rapid result from diet or exercise alone nor will you have the best possible health improvements.
Combining a diet which includes regular measured protein portions with measure carbohydrates and fats combined with a high intake of vegetables and salads is key.
While these generic rules are a guide to go by we need to be specific for best results. For best results you must be assessed by a profession who can determine exactly what you need to achieve the desired outcome.
The exercise prescription should include an amount of resistance training to build muscle. By increasing muscle mass you will in turn speed up your resting metabolic rate – the rate at which you burn calories at rest.
In addition to building muscle you need to dedicate sometime to burning fat specifically. This is where cardio comes in. There are two trains of thought here – low intensity fasted cardio and HIIT (high intensity interval training). I have found a combination of the two works best.
The final ingredient is consistency. Don’t waiver, don’t expect the world over night and enjoy the process.
Fat loss will follow!
